Another example of a "plume-like" feature in the ch3enh image. The "source" of the "plume" is again on the lee side of the coldest tops (ch4enh image), not above them. Moreover, notice in the (strongly enhanced) channel 2 image that it is possible to trace a shadow of the north edge of the "plume" there; this tells us that the "plume" is elevated above the anvil top. Notice also the almost point-size "source" of the "plume" - this is a quite common feature of "plumes", it will be discussed later. |
