Blue eye in the snow.  Shallow convective clouds, taken from above Weisssee (foot of Medelz), with remains of older snow in foreground, and several gaps in the snow, indicating a smaller lake underneath. Hohe Tauern National Park, Austria.

Clouds and shadows above Pasterze Glacier and its valley, under Grossglockner - the highest peak not only of the Hohe Tauern, but also of the entire Austria (top left in the image). 

Where the clouds meet ...  Clouds forming at the end of one of the valleys near the Grossglockner High Alpine Road, captured from Fuscher Törl (2428m). Hohe Tauern National Park, Austria.

Beneath wave clouds.  A gap between two larger wave clouds above Raurisertall, taken from balcony of our pension at Rauris. While the individual clouds "flow" through the two waves, edges of these waves remain more or less stable for much of the time.

Hidden Hochkönig.  Low clouds hiding tops of the Hochkönig mountain range, north of the Hohe Tauern. Captured from Schneeberg Mt., south of Hochkönig. Salzburgerland, Austria.

Milky Way above Rauris.  Stars drifting above Raurisertall, taken from balcony of our pension at Rauris. While the sky is relatively dark here, the whole impression is spoiled by one single poorly set-up street lamp. More about light polution and dark sky protection here. The objects flying or cruising across the sky are satellites and airplanes, not meteors ;)

Cb from Edelweissspitze. A distant Cumulonimbus cloud, captured from the top of Edelweissspitze above the Grossglockner Road. The Cb forms an interesting, not that frequent double-level anvil, and also pops up a smaller overshooting top at the early stage of its evolution, followed by a weak splash of jumping cirrus after decay of the overshooting top. Also, at the later stage notice the distinct downward motions at the bottom parts of the Cb anvil, which would very likely appear from underneath as mamma clouds. Processed from raw (DNG) files.
